Loose Nails

Cookie Policy

Cookie policy for Loose Nails. Which cookies we use, why, and how to manage them in your browser under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.

Last updated:

Loose Nails uses cookies and similar technologies so that the website works correctly and so we can improve your experience. For cookies that are not strictly necessary we ask for your consent in line with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the GDPR.

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. Cookies let the site remember choices you have made — such as which language you prefer — and help it work correctly between page loads.

Cookies are either session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined period). They can be set by loose-nails.com (first-party cookies) or by providers we use (third-party cookies).

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies — required for the website to function. These are set without consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive:

  • preferred-locale — stores your chosen language for 1 year so you do not have to pick it again on your next visit.
  • geo-suggest-dismissed — stored for 1 year; prevents the language-suggestion popup from showing again after you dismiss it.
  • geo-country — stored for 1 day; contains an IP-derived country code used by the popup to suggest the right language version.
  • __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid — set by Stripe during checkout to enable secure checkout and fraud detection.

Functional cookies:

  • Magic-link authentication cookies set only when you sign in to your account.

Analytics and marketing cookies:

  • No analytics or marketing cookies are in use today. If we introduce any in the future we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

3. Third-party cookies

During the payment flow we use Stripe, which sets its own cookies to secure the transaction and prevent fraud. Read more in the Stripe cookie policy.

We do not allow third-party cookies for tracking, profiling or advertising.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the site from working correctly.

  • Google Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Apple Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Mozilla Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Microsoft Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.

For general information on managing cookies on different devices, see allaboutcookies.org.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy when we add or remove cookies, or when the law changes. The latest version is always published on loose-nails.com with the date of the last revision at the top. If we introduce material changes — such as new analytics cookies — we will re-request your consent through our cookie banner.
