Terms of Service
Terms of Service for the Loose Nails Nails In The Box monthly subscription. Covers ordering, payment, delivery, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal and conformity.
Last updated:
These Terms of Service govern the contract between you as a consumer and X Beauty AB when you subscribe to Loose Nails — Nails In The Box. By placing an order you accept the terms set out below. Because Loose Nails is sold across the EU/EEA, these terms reference EU-wide consumer-protection instruments and your mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence always apply in addition.
1. Operator
Loose Nails (loose-nails.com) is operated by:
- X Beauty AB
- Swedish company registration no.: 559337-9059
- EU VAT no.: SE559337905901
- Registered address: Kubikenborgsgatan 6A, 854 63 Sundsvall, Sweden
- Contact: hej@loose-nails.com
X Beauty AB trades into the EU/EEA exclusively online via loose-nails.com. We do not operate a phone support line — all customer contact is handled by email and, for active subscribers, by SMS with your personal tipster. Our customer service normally responds within 1 business day.
2. Definitions
In these terms:
- Loose Nails — the service and website loose-nails.com provided by X Beauty AB.
- The Subscription — the recurring monthly Nails In The Box service that delivers a kit each month.
- Consumer — you as a natural person subscribing for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession.
- Kit / Set — the monthly delivery containing press-on nails from XNails together with accessories such as glue and a nail file.
- Tipster — the Loose Nails team member you chat with by SMS to receive personal recommendations and styling help.
3. Formation of the contract
The contract is concluded when you complete your order through Stripe Checkout and we confirm it by email. The order confirmation is the binding contract between you and X Beauty AB.
To subscribe you must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract. If you are under 18, a guardian must consent on your behalf.
Until an order has been dispatched you can cancel it free of charge by writing to hej@loose-nails.com. Once the parcel has been handed over to the carrier the rules on the right of withdrawal and returns apply instead (see section 8).
4. The service — Nails In The Box
Loose Nails is a monthly subscription. Every month you receive a kit in your mailbox with press-on nails from XNails and the accessories needed to apply them.
- When the month's line-up is ready we send you a personal link by SMS where you can pick the set you want.
- If you do not make a choice within the time window indicated, we automatically dispatch the set we recommend based on your preferences and previous selections.
- You can chat with your tipster by SMS at any time for help with style, length, shape or special requests.
Available plans:
- Basic — 24.90 € / 249 SEK per month, 1 set per delivery.
- Premium — 44.90 € / 449 SEK per month, 2 sets per delivery.
5. Prices, currency and VAT
Prices are shown in euro (EUR) for customers in DE, NL and FI and in Swedish kronor (SEK) for customers in SE, NO and DK. The currency and final amount payable, including VAT and shipping, are always shown clearly before you confirm the order in Stripe Checkout.
VAT is included at the rate applicable in your country of delivery, calculated automatically through Stripe's tax services. As the seller is established in Sweden, intra-EU distance sales follow the EU One Stop Shop (OSS) rules.
Any currency-conversion or foreign-card fees charged by your card issuer or bank are outside our control and are your responsibility. We reserve the right to adjust prices; price changes affecting an ongoing subscription are notified in accordance with section 15.
6. Payment
Payments are processed by our payment partner Stripe. Available payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay and — depending on country — Klarna, iDEAL, Sofort/Giropay and Bancontact.
The subscription is charged on a recurring monthly basis on the same calendar date as the contract was concluded. A receipt is emailed to you after each successful charge.
If a payment fails — for example because the card has expired or there are insufficient funds — Stripe automatically retries the charge for up to 7 days. If the charge still does not succeed the subscription is automatically paused and we contact you by email. You can update your payment details at any time from your account at loose-nails.com.
7. Delivery
Once you have picked the month's set — or once the time window for picking has elapsed and we dispatch our recommended set — the kit is sent within 2 business days.
Delivery is by mailbox post; you do not need to be home. Estimated transit times after dispatch:
- Sweden: 2–3 business days (PostNord).
- Norway and Denmark: 3–5 business days (PostNord / regional partner).
- Germany, Netherlands and Finland: 4–6 business days (DHL / local carrier).
Shipping fees:
- Sweden: free shipping.
- Norway and Denmark: 29 SEK per delivery.
- Germany, Netherlands and Finland: 3.90 € per delivery.
If a parcel does not reach you — for example because the address was incorrect or because it was returned — we contact you by email to find a solution. For subscribers we do not automatically charge any fee for uncollected or returned parcels; where the issue is not on your side we re-send the kit free of charge.
8. Right of withdrawal
As a consumer in the EU/EEA you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights.
For the subscription contract, the withdrawal period runs from the conclusion of the contract (order confirmation) until the first kit has been dispatched. Once you have received your first delivery, the 14-day period for the goods runs from the day you (or a third party indicated by you, other than the carrier) acquired physical possession of the kit.
To exercise the right of withdrawal you must send a clear statement to hej@loose-nails.com before the period expires, including your name, address and order reference. A model withdrawal form (Annex I(B) of Directive 2011/83/EU) is available on request — using it is not mandatory.
Where the right is validly exercised we reimburse all payments received from you, including the standard cost of delivery, no later than 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision, using the same means of payment as the original transaction. For returned goods we may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or until you have supplied evidence of having sent them. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods unless we have agreed otherwise.
Hygiene exception — Article 16(e) of Directive 2011/83/EU: the right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and which were unsealed after delivery. Opened nail kits — including any unsealed nail tips, glue or accompanying hygiene items — fall within this exception and cannot be returned once unsealed.
9. Cancellation of the subscription
The subscription has no minimum term and no notice period. You can cancel at any time from the Stripe Billing Portal that is accessible from /account on loose-nails.com.
A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: any kit already paid for is still delivered and you are not charged again. We do not refund the current month's payment when you cancel mid-period unless the right of withdrawal in section 8 also applies.
10. Conformity / legal guarantee
The goods we deliver must conform to the contract as required by Directive (EU) 2019/771 on the sale of goods. You are entitled to remedies for lack of conformity for a minimum of 2 years from delivery; in several Member States the period is longer — for example 3 years in Sweden, between 2 and 5 years in Norway depending on expected lifetime, and 6 years from the date of sale in Ireland.
Notify any lack of conformity within a reasonable time after discovery; a complaint filed within 2 months is in any event deemed timely. Send your complaint to hej@loose-nails.com with a description of the issue, photos and your order reference. For valid non-conformity claims we cover the cost of return shipping and offer repair, replacement, a proportionate price reduction or termination of the contract in accordance with the Directive.
11. Product safety and proper use
The products supplied with each kit are intended only for cosmetic use on fingernails. Do not use them for any other purpose.
- We recommend a small allergy patch test with the glue on the skin before first use.
- Keep out of reach of children. The glue contains cyanoacrylate and may be harmful if swallowed.
- Skin bonded with glue: dissolve gently with an acetone-based nail polish remover; never pull skin apart by force.
- Contact with eyes: rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice.
- If you experience an allergic reaction or other adverse effects: stop using the product and seek medical advice or contact your national poison information centre.
12. Intellectual property
All content on loose-nails.com — including text, photographs, illustrations, graphics, code, trademarks and layout — belongs to X Beauty AB or its licensors and is protected by EU and international copyright and trademark law.
XNails™ is a trademark of X Beauty AB. No material may be copied, distributed, modified or used commercially without our prior written consent.
13. Liability
X Beauty AB is liable for the service in accordance with mandatory consumer-protection rules. Subject to such rules we are not liable for:
- damage resulting from using the products contrary to the instructions supplied or section 11 above,
- allergic reactions or skin irritation that are not caused by a non-conformity of the goods,
- interruptions, delays or errors caused by third-party providers (e.g. PostNord, DHL, Stripe, 46elks, SendGrid, Shopify or Vercel) that are outside our reasonable control,
- indirect or consequential damages or loss of profit.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Force majeure
X Beauty AB is relieved from liability for delay or non-performance of its obligations where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control which we could not reasonably foresee or avoid — for example war, natural disaster, pandemic, strike, government decision, major technical outage or carrier disruption.
We will inform you as soon as possible if such an event affects your delivery and will work to find a solution. If the impediment lasts for more than 30 days either party may terminate the contract free of charge.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms — for example following changes in law, new payment methods or price adjustments. The latest version is always published on loose-nails.com with the date of the last revision.
For material changes — such as price increases or changed delivery conditions — we notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not accept the change you may cancel the subscription free of charge before the new version applies. Continuing to use the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
16. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms and the contract concluded between you and X Beauty AB are governed by Swedish law. This choice of law does not deprive you, as a consumer, of the protection of mandatory provisions that would otherwise apply under the law of your country of habitual residence (Article 6(2) of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, Rome I).
If a dispute arises we will always try to find an amicable solution. If we cannot agree, the following out-of-court options are available to consumers in the EU/EEA:
- EU Online Dispute Resolution platform — under Regulation (EU) No 524/2013, the European Commission provides an ODR platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. You may reach us at hej@loose-nails.com.
- Sweden — Allmänna Reklamationsnämnden (ARN), arn.se.
- Norway — Forbrukerklageutvalget, forbrukerklageutvalget.no.
- Denmark — Forbrugerklagenævnet, forbrug.dk.
- Finland — Kuluttajariitalautakunta, kuluttajariita.fi.
- Germany — the relevant local Verbraucherzentrale (verbraucherzentrale.de) or another general consumer arbitration body.
- Netherlands — ACM ConsuWijzer, consuwijzer.nl.
X Beauty AB is not obliged to and does not voluntarily commit to participating in any specific consumer arbitration scheme. Should the matter be brought before a court, the courts of your country of residence are competent, as is — subject to mandatory rules of jurisdiction — the District Court of Sundsvall, Sweden.
